DO I NEED A WATERPROOF PHONE?

You may be tempted by a waterproof smartphone if you have nightmares when you dropped your phone into the sink, immediately dipped it in a bag of rice and spent 48 hours waiting for it. That everything would be fine. Increasingly, phones claim to be waterproof, but these are often the most expensive models in the market. Keep in mind that some phones have a higher level of impermeability than others.

For example, Apple claims that the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus can survive up to 30 minutes of immersion in a meter of water, while Samsung claims that the Galaxy S8, S7, and S7 Edge still work after being submerged in 1, 5 meters of Water. Amount of time interestingly, we are seeing even more mid-range phones with waterproofing. The Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) and A5 (2017) have an IP68 rating, which makes them as water resistant as the most expensive range of the S Series.

This classification also makes them more waterproof than the Apple iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, and some more expensive phones, such as the OnePlus 5T, do not resist water at all.
